This page explains what personal information Built Locally collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short and plain.
Who we are
Built Locally is run by Osemobor Aruya, based in the United Kingdom. Built Locally is responsible for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
- When you fill in a form on this website or in one of our Facebook or Instagram ads: your name, phone number, email, business name, trade, and anything you choose to tell us.
- When you ring one of our numbers, including our demo number: the number you rang from and the time. We send one automatic text back. If you reply, we keep the reply.
- When you book a call: the day and time you pick.
- When you visit this website: the page that sent you here, for example an ad. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our visitor counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
Why we use it
- To do what you asked: run your free missed call test, send you the results, ring you back, or hold the call you booked.
- To talk to you about our service, if you asked us to or replied to us.
- To provide the service if you become a client, and to bill you.
The law lets us do this because you asked us to (taking steps before a contract, or the contract itself), or because we have a fair business reason to reply to an enquiry you started (legitimate interests). We only send you marketing texts or emails if you agreed to them, and every one tells you how to stop.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of companies to run our service, and they only use your information to do that job for us:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores form enquiries
- Twilio, which sends and receives our texts and calls
- Resend, which sends our emails
- Telegram, which alerts us when you get in touch
- Cal.eu, which books calls
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), if you filled in a form inside one of our ads
- Stripe, which takes card payments from clients
Some of these companies may handle information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the legal safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and test results from people who don't become clients: up to 12 months from our last contact, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as you are a client, then up to 6 years for tax and accounting.
- Text and call records: up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. Reply STOP to any of our texts and we will not text you again.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If you are a client
When we run a website or follow-up system for your business, we handle your customers' details on your behalf. That is covered by a separate data processing agreement between us and you.
